Tumbling Media
|
Burnishing Compound
|
| Great for both silver and gold. A
high quality burnishing and lubricating compound. Use in the ratio of one
heaping tablespoon to one gallon of water. Adjust if necessary. For
bright, clean finishes, the burnishing compound must be used in the right
proportion and any resulting sludge rinsed away before particles embed and
dull the metal. |

Ceramic Angle (Angle cut triangle)
|
| A 3/8" x 5/8" size
ceramic media containing no abrasives. When tumbling rocks, use ceramic
angles as a pre-filler to occupy space inside the tumbler and as a carrier
to deliver grain abrasives to the work pieces. Adds weight to the load for
increased tumbling action and separates work pieces to eliminate parts
sticking together. |

|
| A pithy material made from the hard
woody ring of the corn cob. It is used as a very gentle finish and drying
media in polishing and burnishing metals. Absorbs many times its weight.
Readily removes oil, dirt and grease from tumbled parts. |

Garnet Sand
|
| An excellent aid
to grinding and polishing stones or glass in a vibrating or rolling
tumbler. It's small size helps aid in grinding and polishing those
tough to get areas. Use about 1/4" cup of garnet per
quart of rocks. Use mixture from rough grind all the way to
polish. |

Steel shot Jewelry Mixture
|
| A superior mix of balls, pins, ball
cones and cylinders. Just the right sizes for jewelry work. The mixture
insures maximum coverage of a wide variety of work pieces. Shot is made
from hard, low carbon steel with a mirror bright surface. Use 10 parts
shot to 1 part work piece (by volume) using burnishing soap and water.
CAUTION: The burnishing compound must be used in the right proportion and
any resulting sludge rinsed away before particles embed and dull the
metal. Five pounds approximate on pine in volume. |
