Beveling is a process whereby the edges of a piece of glass are angled from some point on the surface to the edge (rim). Beveling machines are meant to do two things to glass:
These processes are usually considered four distinct steps (or stations). It is possible to buy a machine that is actually three or four machines in one, each wheel being considered a separate entity. However, if a great deal of work is being mass produced, a single-purpose unit may be the best choice. |
