The downward slanted cutter cups and shafts
run the sphere in a bath of grit. This eliminates the need to constantly dab
grit on with a brush. It also causes the grit slurry to run away from the
bearing. The angle of the cutting cups can be increased as the rough corners of
the sphere grind off. Both heads are spring loaded, so continuous adjustment is
unnecessary. Unit comes complete with the above features, 2 polishing buffs, 2
grit pans, instructions, guarantee, and choice of one pair of cutter cups.

Shown for DetailThese 4” Cutter cups provide faster grinding than
conventional silicon carbide cutter cups. The three metal-bonded, sintered cups
give an aggressive grind without being harsh and can accommodate spheres from 3
3/4” to 6 1/2”. The five finishing, resin bonded cups give user good control
and a quick grind. These cups have been tested by glass and lapidary artists
and have been given rave reviews. All cups come with 3/4” National Pipe thread.
Not available in 1-8 National Coarse.

Kit will make spheres from 1 1/4" to 4" in size. cups have 1" - 8 right-hand threaded bore to fit horizontal lap arbors. Kit consists of special splash guard and 1 each: 1", 1 1/2" and 2 1/2" cutter cups (base not included). Sphere cutting on this unit is simple. Just hold the rough sphere with gloved hand and grind it on the proper size sphere cutter shown. Shipping weight 9 lbs.
